Please can you help me with a herbicide to control the weeds called “bankye wire” in my cassava farm?

Hi Stephen,
After sprouting of cassava, it is advisable to control weeds manually i.e. by slashing the weeds or by hoe weeding.
At the young stage of cassava, it could easily be destroyed by herbicide intended for the weeds.

I’m think of acquiring agricultural drone for my farm and am thinking if there’s a systemic type of weedicide that would kill de weeds but not harm my cassava plants

For the drone, get in touch with @acquahmeyer.
At what stage of the cassava do you require systemic weedicide?

I just want to know if it’s possible using the drone to control weeds rather than the human spraying

Yes, I believe, but that will depend on the crop cover. That is if you have a land with no crops and only weeds. The drone can easily mover over and spray the weedicide overhead. If there are crops, spraying of weedicide by drone would be difficult. You don’t want the weedicide to get to your crops. In your case, using a knapsack by a human is adviced.
However, if it is a selective weedicide you are applying which will not kill your crops but rather the weeds then a drone can. You would still have to look at the hight/stage of your crops for effective application by the drone.
If it were the spraying of a pesticide, the drone will well be suited.

I want a brand of weedicide that won’t affect my crop (Cassava) when I spray with the drone. Secondly it means applying fertilizer and pesticides with the drone is easy and recommended

I am yet to come across a selective weedicide for cassava. In the case, you are able to acquire a selective weedicide, apply at a time when the cassava is very young and have not formed a canopy. That is with the drone.
I will still find out for you the selective weedicide for cassava.
On the drone recommendation. The motive is to get the fertilizer or pesticide to the spot it is required with minimal wastage. The mode of application, the time, the equipment, the materials to be applied, and other factors count. Consider them to know if a drone or human application is better.
