Low productivity has been identified as one of the major challenges in Animal Production in developing economies in sub-Saharan Africa. It’s quite interesting to know that researchers within the tropics over the past decades have not only been making significant contributions in developing new approaches/techniques and identifying ideal breeds/genotypes for the various agro-ecological zones for improved productivity. They’ve also been establishing the scientific basis of some indigenous husbandry practices that were abandoned but have been found to be very efficient and contributing immensely towards enhanced productivity. It is quite unfortunate most of these innovations have not received the need publication. Most livestock enterprises are thus still using techniques and temperate-breeds of farm animals.

From the 15th - 18th of October 2018, you have an opportunity not to only share/showcase your innovations for improved livestock productivity in sub-Saharan Africa but an opportunity to also experience some of the improved indigenous husbandry practices for increased productivity. I want to personally invite you to be at the Accra International Conference Centre for this great experience.
